Teddywidders were originally bred in Germany and Europe; and have gained popularity there. The breed is relatively unknown in the United States. In 2018 American breeders began working on developing American Teddywidders to hopefully one day gain ARBA acceptance. The Teddywidder is slowly gaining in recognition and is becoming one of the best breeds to keep as a pet.
